About the Pepsi Center
The Pepsi Center has had the same name since opening its doors in 1999. Located in Denver, it is known to the locals as "The Can". The arena hosts events ranging from NHL to NBA games and everything that lies in between.
Seating capacity is always important when it comes to professional sports, and the Pepsi Center does not disappoint in this area. For basketball games, the capacity is a bit more than 19,000. When NHL games come to town, the capacity dips to right around 18,000; this is still plenty big enough to make for a great atmosphere.
Pepsi Center hosted the 2001 NHL All-Star Game, the 2001 Stanley Cup Finals, and the 2005 NBA All-Star Game. From 2004-2006, the center has hosted the Mountain West Conference men's basketball tournament.
There are four professional sports franchises that play home games at the Pepsi Center. They are the Colorado Crush, the Denver Nuggets, the Colorado Mammoth, and the Colorado Avalanche.
Also, the Pepsi Center is scheduled to be the main venue for the 2008 Democratic convention
As you can see, the Pepsi Center is a happening place all year-round and the city of Denver is committed to sporting excellence, and this can be seen in the many benefits of the Pepsi Center.
